I am a qualified teacher (PCGE with QTS gained from St Mary's University, Twickenham) who has worked in education for over 10 years and supported a range of children from 5-11 years.

During my career to date, I have worked in a number of different schools, both independent and state, and have experienced working in a number of different roles, from Teaching Assistant to Class Teacher right through to Headteacher. Most recently I have worked in a prep school in Wimbledon and supported children to successfully pass their 11+ exams.

I believe every student has the potential to excel in their learning with the right guidance and support, and I strive to create an encouraging learning environment where my pupils feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their curiosity.

My specialisms include:

  • 11+ support English
  • 11+ Non Verbal and Verbal Reasoning support
  • Interview practice and techniques
  • KS1 booster support (English and maths)
  • KS2 booster support (English and maths)

I understand the importance of children's mental health and wellbeing, especially during exam seasons where pressures can mount.  I have trained with Bounce Forward to teach resilience in young learners and enable them to thrive when faced with challenges. I also apply a growth mindset approach to learning during my sessions.

I make my learning sessions engaging and memorable, working with my learners and adapting to their individual needs and learning styles to support and develop understanding. I also regularly track my learners to ensure solid progress is made and misconceptions are addressed and understood.

I am based in the Wimbledon area and am happy to tutor both in person in the locality or online.
