My name is Asmita and I am currently a final year medical student. I have been tutoring for the last 8 years. My experience extends across a wide age range and includes students from varied educational starting points. I have helped students from children as young as 5 up to adults in their late 20s. I have extensive experience tutoring at primary and secondary school levels, including 11+, GCSE (Maths, Science English), A Level (Biology) and Adult Functional Skills.

 

My educational background includes a First-Class Degree in Biomedical Science which enabled me to transfer into Medicine. Through my own learning journey, I have developed many learning and study techniques that I have been able to introduce to my teaching. One of my biggest strengths is being able to tailor lessons according to the individual student’s needs. This includes adapting my teaching for students with specific SEN and other requirements. I have, for example taught students with dyslexia and autism.

 

Most importantly, I want the lessons to be a safe space where students aren’t afraid to ask questions and take ownership of their own education. Learning should be fun and I hope that I am able to inspire a love for learning in each student.
