I am a qualified and experienced History teacher.

For over ten years I have really enjoyed passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. I am committed to helping my students reach their full potential and succeed in their exams!

My passion and love for History has led to working at schools around the world including

  • Shawnigan Lake School, Canada
  • Westlake Boys School, New Zealand
  • Radley College, Oxfordshire
  • Claires Court School, Berkshire
  • Oak Grove College, West Sussex

I provide 1:1 tutoring to move your History Exam result from a 4 to a 7, or above, using my 4-step plan.

STEP 1 - IDENTIFY
What are you struggling with? Providing a road map for you to achieve your goals.

STEP 2 - EXPAND
Retaining key knowledge after every lesson to enhance study skills and cognitive thinking.

STEP 3 - EXPLORE
Learning how to analyse historical sources using interactive, engaging and exciting resources to expand your child's passion for History.

STEP 4 - EXPLAIN
Go through what exam markers will be looking for, simplifying the exam structure for your child.

These are the exact steps I have been using with students for the last 6 years as a History teacher and 90% of the students I have worked with go on to achieve a 7+ in their History Exam as a result.

"Charlie is a professional, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and well-organised history tutor. He is helping our year 11 son prepare for GCSE exams by providing lessons for topics he missed at school as well as exam preparation skills. Charlie provides our son with dynamic and interesting lessons, sets relevant homework and provides supporting lesson materials. We (the parents) have access to a lesson plan/progress spreadsheet and regular feedback. We`re pleased with progress so far."
