"I sincerely cannot express how grateful I am that my daughter had you to guide her through Year 9 and 10. You have been a wonderful help and thank you so much for your guidance."

My name is Haleema, and during my 5 years of tutoring, I have taught a range of students from 11+ to GCSE and A-Level.

I graduated from King's College London with a degree in English Literature and am proactive and creative in my approach to teaching. With English especially, this is all about harnessing a student's creativity during their younger years, as well as cultivating a love of reading and writing during this AI-age we find ourselves in. For older students, a thorough knowledge of source material and the exam board's specification while simultaneously practicing exam technique as early as possible is crucial to success.

I believe in structured lesson planning as well as keeping lessons varied between English Literature and Language to sustain interest. My personal belief and wish is that learning should be fun and not feel like a chore, which is an approach I adopt in my lessons.

English is also about how you speak and present your ideas too. In turn, I aim to increase the confidence of my tutees through making them converse about their ideas while reading a novel or play. While success in exams is paramount, I am passionate about ensuring a love for the subject and the many interesting ways language operates.
