Sarah - Qualified Primary school teacher

Tutor Sarah, portrait photo.

I am a South African qualified primary school teacher, I have recently moved over to London, and I am currently working as a teacher’s assistant at a school in Chelsea, in Key Stage 2.

I have a great passion for teaching and I firmly believe in creating an all-inclusive, well rounded teaching and learning environment where all children are able to thrive in all aspects of education. I have a very high regard for professionalism and service excellence. I offer experience as a Tutor, as well as experience as a teacher working with learners aged 3 to 10 years old.

I pride myself on my ability to adapt and change the curriculum to meet each child’s needs and standards. I understand the importance of one-to-one tutoring and of the importance of adapting the curriculum to best fit each child’s needs. I take a holistic approach to teaching and learning where critical thinking, questioning, and reasoning lie at the centre of teaching and learning. I strongly believe in encouraging each learner to think before being told, in order to promote discussion and develop their minds.

I offer tutoring in maths and English as well as phonics. I am also able to assist with the development of reading and writing skills. I can cover all aspects of learning from Early years to Key Stage 2. I love to make learning fun and interactive where each learner feels like they are confident with the work we are doing. I am patient, kind and gentle and place a massive emphasis on fostering a love for learning. I believe that creating a happy learning environment promotes learning.

I am based in Wimbledon, and I am able to come to your homes for in-person tutoring, I feel as though it is easier to tutor younger learners in person and that they would gain most from the lessons through in person learning.
